    WEC: Giovinazzi puts Ferrari on pole for Qatar’s curtain-raiser

    Antonio Giovinazzi secured pole place for the Qatar 1812km, the opening spherical of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship, putting the #51 AF Corse Ferrari 499P on high of the timing screens, with United Autosports McLarens reaching a front-row lockout within the LMGT3 class

    The Italian ex-Method 1 driver posted a last-gasp time of 1:38.359 to grab pole from Dries Vanthoor’s #20 BMW M Hybrid V8, which was simply shy of securing the Bavarian producer’s first-ever WEC top-class pole place.

    This marked Giovinazzi’s second pole within the final 4 rounds, after securing one at COTA in 2024.
