As Lauren Campbell shared for MassLive, retired NFL quarterback Cam Newton raised eyebrows when he mentioned throughout an ESPN look forward of the weekend that the 9-2 New England Patriots have “idiot’s gold written throughout them.”

Throughout a Monday morning look on Boston sports activities radio station WEEI, first-year Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel was requested about Newton’s take.

Mike Vrabel, Patriots not specializing in what Cam Newton thinks

“Nothing’s bizarre to me, as a result of individuals can come on the radio or, you recognize what I imply? It’s simply (saying) issues that get their consideration,” Vrabel mentioned, per Campbell. “We’re OK with that. I promise you, we had been OK with it. Something that anyone says, we’re going to come to work. We’re going to concentrate on us. We’re going to attempt to enhance, and we’re going to concentrate on the Bengals and occurring the highway, making an attempt to get our tenth win. That’s all we’re going to concentrate on.”

The Patriots started an eight-game successful streak after they defeated the Carolina Panthers (6-5) again in Week 4. In the course of the ongoing run, New England has earned a 23-20 Week 5 victory on the Buffalo Payments (7-3) and a 28-23 Week 10 win on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-4).

As of Monday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had second-year Patriots quarterback Drake Maye second among the many betting favorites at +185 odds to assert the Most Precious Participant Award for the marketing campaign. Additionally on Monday, ESPN BET had the Patriots as seven-point favorites for his or her matchup on the 3-7 Bengals on Nov. 23.

“What are we gonna do? Put Cam Newton clips up there? We’d slightly put our clips or the Bengals clips,” Vrabel added about whether or not he may use Newton’s feedback as bulletin-board materials. “I don’t suppose that’s even remotely near how we must always encourage our gamers to play higher.”

Mike Vrabel sends “no naps” warning to Patriots

If the season ended after Week 11, the Patriots can be the No. 2 seed for the AFC portion of the playoffs. However, Vrabel would not need his gamers trying previous any opponent this fall.

“This league is – it is so simply finicky, you recognize? I imply, you must proceed to do it every day, and on gameday it is actually an important,” Vrabel defined, per Tom Carroll of Audacy. “So, no naps. That is what we’ll begin speaking about. No naps. We do not wish to take any naps and have any days off.”
