    Van Gisbergen dominates Sonoma, takes third win of 2025

    Shane van Gisbergen placed on one other road-course clinic at Sonoma Raceway on Sunday. 

    A day after he barely missed out on a win in Saturday’s Xfinity Collection race, van Gisbergen began from the pole, gained Stage 2 and led 97 of 110 laps to attain his fourth profession Cup Collection win and his third of 2025. 

    “We had an important automotive,” van Gisbergen informed TNT Sports activities. “The final couple years have been a dream come true. Hope I am right here for a very long time to come back.”

    Regardless of a slew of yellows within the closing laps, van Gisbergen held off Chase Briscoe to earn the win. Chase Elliott was charging in the direction of the entrance on recent tires within the waning moments of the race, however a mistake with three laps to go took him out of profitable rivalry. 

    Briscoe, Elliott, Michael McDowell and Christopher Bell rounded out the highest 5, with Tyler Reddick, Ty Gibbs, William Byron, Joey Logano and Kyle Busch finishing the top-10. 

    Different notable finishers embody Ryan Preece in twelfth, Daniel Suarez in 14th, Denny Hamlin in twentieth, Stage 1 winner Ross Chastain in twenty fourth and Bubba Wallace in twenty sixth. 

    The twenty first race of the 2025 Cup Collection season will happen at Dover Motor Speedway on July 20. The Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 will go inexperienced shortly after 2 p.m. ET, with protection on TNT, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
