    The Pittsburgh Pirates completed their seventh consecutive shedding season (71-91) in 2025 and haven’t made the playoffs for over a decade (2015). 

    Regardless of this, the Pirates confirmed a willingness to spend this offseason, swimming within the deep finish of the free-agent pool.
