The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Elements Sequence Chase could not be off to a greater begin for Sheldon Creed.
After profitable at Darlington on Sept. 5 and ending runner-up to Jesse Love at Gateway on Sept. 12, Creed gained Friday’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway in extra time, holding off William Sawalich to take his third win of 2026.
Creed had not gained a race in his O’Reilly Sequence profession previous to this season.
Love had beforehand used up Justin Allgaier to get to the lead with lower than 20 laps remaining, which despatched Allgaier again to fourth. Love completed the race in seventeenth.
Sawalich, Brent Crews, Allgaier and Corey Day rounded out the highest 5, with Taylor Grey, Sam Mayer, Parker Retzlaff, Dean Thompson and Sammy Smith finishing the highest 10.
Creed now has an 11-point lead over Allgaier within the standings going into the Oct. 3 race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Carson Kvapil, who’s third (-37) completed twenty fourth after incurring an earlier penalty. Love, the defending sequence champion, is fourth within the standings, 41 factors again of Creed.
