    Philippine college basketball mourns loss of two players in drowning incident

    Ateneo de Manila College introduced the passing of two members of their males’s basketball staff, Rene Clert Baterbonia and Divine Adili, who drowned throughout a team-building exercise in Dipaculao, Aurora, Philippines.

    The 19-year-old Baterbonia is a newly recruited participant, a standout guard-forward, and identified for his robust displaying in youth competitions after dominating the “Palarong Pambansa” within the province of Agusan del Sur, Philippines.

    Baterbonia is predicted to compete on this 12 months’s UAAP Season 89 males’s basketball event.

    Whereas 21-year-old Adili, a Nigerian overseas student-athlete, performed within the UAAP Season 88 males’s basketball event final 12 months.

    The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, the nation’s basketball federation, launched a press release that it’s already in touch with Ateneo’s basketball officers to help.

    “Because the Nationwide Sports activities Affiliation for basketball, the SBP has been in communication with the College’s basketball officers to find out what help could also be wanted, with explicit consideration given to these most affected by this tragic incident.”

    The Ateneo males’s basketball program is below head coach Tab Baldwin, a former coach of the New Zealand nationwide staff.

    Baldwin can be identified for eight seasons with the Auckland Stars, profitable 5 NBL titles, and was named NBL Coach of the 12 months 4 instances.
