Nottingham Forest proprietor Evangelos Marinakis is suing Crystal Palace over a banner unfurled by their followers depicting him holding a gun to midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

Marinakis’ legal professionals lodged a defamation declare within the Excessive Court docket on Monday, with CPFC Restricted listed as one of many two defendents.

The banner, which was proven throughout a 1-1 Premier League draw between the 2 sides at Selhurst Park final August, learn: “Mr Marinakis isn’t concerned in blackmail, match-fixing, drug trafficking or corruption.”

Marinakis has at all times denied such claims.

In November 2025, the Soccer Affiliation had charged Palace with failing to make sure that supporters didn’t behave in an improper, offensive, abusive or provocative manner.

    Forest and Palace’s rivalry

Gibbs-White seemed set to affix Tottenham final summer season after they triggered his £60million launch clause, just for the England worldwide to signal a brand new deal on the Metropolis Floor.

The 26-year-old defined his resolution alongside Marinakis in a video posted on Forest’s social media.

Tensions have boiled between the 2 golf equipment within the final 12 months, after Palace had been demoted from the Europa League final season to relegated to the Convention League after breaking UEFA’s multi-club possession guidelines.

The choice was reportedly made following a criticism by Marinakis, who noticed his Forest aspect promoted to the Europa League because of this.

The Eagles finally went on to win the Convention League, their first-ever European trophy, whereas Forest reached the semi-finals of the Europa League.
