United States ahead Haji Wright will miss the remainder of the CONCACAF Gold Cup due to an injured left Achilles.
A 27-year-old from Los Angeles, Wright scored within the 84th minute of final weekend’s opening 5-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago, 11 minutes after getting into. He didn’t play in Thursday’s 1-0 victory over Saudi Arabia and the U.S. Soccer Federation mentioned Saturday he’ll return to Coventry City for analysis and remedy.
He can’t be changed on the match roster. The U.S., which has already clinched a quarterfinals berth, performs Haiti on Sunday (7 p.m. ET on FOX and the FOX Sports app) within the People’ group stage finale.
