Miesha Tate hasn’t decided on whether or not or not she’ll return to the UFC octagon.

The previous UFC ladies’s bantamweight champion competed at UFC Des Moines earlier this month and was on the improper finish of a unanimous choice towards Yana Santos. “Cupcake” returned from a 17-month layoff following a submission win over Julia Avila at UFC Austin in December 2023.

Tate revealed in an Instagram video that she suffered a horribly painful harm she suffered within the win.

“I had my hooks in on her again, certainly one of which was a bit shallow, and I actually went to be very aggressive to attempt to power her from again to stomach, stomach down, and I ripped two if my ligaments and I needed to have reconstructive surgical procedure,” Tate defined. “It was by far the toughest factor I’ve ever needed to do. It was tougher than coming again after having my two youngsters, and I, at a number of factors, bawled my eyes out and thought I’d by no means be capable to struggle once more — which I actually wished to have that struggle.

“And after an 18-month layoff, [and] the largest harm of my profession, I can truthfully say that I’m proud of this efficiency, and I’m pleased, even in a loss.”

Tate introduced her retirement at UFC 205 in November 2016 following a lopsided choice loss to Raquel Pennington. The 38-year-old returned slightly below 5 years later, and has gone 2-3, together with a win over Marion Reneau in her comeback struggle in July 2021.

As of now, Tate hasn’t decided if her loss to Santos was her closing struggle.

“I’m not making any closing choices,” Tate mentioned. “[It] stays to be seen whether or not I’ll struggle once more or not. I’m not going to make clear both of these as a result of I believe there is no such thing as a proper or improper reply.”
