Kenny Atkinson: Jarrett Allen’s next step is to be able to guard five out

Cavs head coach Kenny Atkinson is placing Cleveland’s defensive highlight straight on Jarrett Allen, his star large man. “We all know J.A.’s next step is to be able to guard five out, Atkinson said. “I think it’s a challenge. But he’s more than capable with his versatility. I’ll say this, they apply that, however we even have two bigs offensively, so that they’re going to have to protect us too, proper? It’s a tough guard for us. “However I feel once we play these two bigs along with our offensive rebounding, our choose and roll offense with J.A., they’re going to have to protect him. So it’d seem to be a drawback for us on one finish. It may very well be a bonus for us on the opposite [hand].”
