    Jimmy Adams appointed Hampshire men’s One Day Cup head coach

    Former Hampshire opening batter Jimmy Adams has been appointed as Head Coach for the lads’s One Day Cup.

    Adams will take over from Adi Birrell who will take cost of Southern Courageous males’s crew in The Hundred.

    The club stalwart beforehand coached the lads’s Second XI earlier than making the transfer to batting coach in 2022.

    Jimmy Adams, Hampshire Males’s One Day Cup Head Coach, stated:“It’s an honour to steer my boyhood membership as head coach within the Metro Financial institution One Day Cup.

    “Having labored with the group for plenty of years now and seeing the expertise we have now coming via the pathway and Academy, I’m hoping we will put in some robust performances and attain the ultimate at Trent Bridge for the second time in three years.”

    Adams received six trophies with the membership, together with Hampshire’s white ball double in 2012.

    He made fifties within the finals of the 2009 Pals Provident Trophy in opposition to Sussex and the 2012 CB40 in opposition to Warwickshire at Lord’s to assist Hampshire carry each titles.

    Hampshire Males start their Metro Financial institution One Day Cup marketing campaign away to Glamorgan on Tuesday 5 August.

    The Rose and Crown play 4 house One Day Cup matches at Utilita Bowl on Thursday 7 August (v Essex), Friday 15 August (v Leicestershire), Wednesday 20 August (v Nottinghamshire), and Sunday 24 August (v Derbyshire).
