Gilbert Burns vs. Michael Morales moved from UFC 315 to UFC Vegas 106 main event

A welterweight showdown between Gilbert Burns and Michael Morales has been moved from the primary card of UFC 315 on Might 10 to the headlining spot of UFC Vegas 106 on the APEX on Might 17.

The promotion introduced the change throughout Saturday’s UFC 314 broadcast.

Burns is at the moment No. 7 at welterweight within the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, whereas the undefeated Morales sits on the cusp of a high 15 spot.

It’s unclear why the bout was pushed again to Might 17 from the Montreal lineup to a Struggle Night time present in Las Vegas.

Burns (22-8) appears to snap a three-fight skid following losses to present champion Belal Muhammad and top-ranked 170-pounders Jack Della Maddalena and Sean Brady. “Durinho” has received three of seven bouts since difficult Kamaru Usman for the UFC title in 2021, leaving his promotional document at 15-8.

Ecuador’s Morales (17-0) enters the largest combat of his profession after successful 5 in a row within the UFC since a profitable look at Dana White’s Contender Sequence, a run capped off by a bonus-winning first-round end of Neil Magny this previous August.

UFC 315 is headlined by Muhammad vs. Della Maddalena for the welterweight strap, with Valentina Shevchenko defending her flyweight belt towards Manon Fiorot within the co-main occasion.
