The 2025 Indianapolis 500 delivered an exciting race chock-full of drama from begin to end. Ultimately, Alex Palou handed Marcus Ericsson for the lead with 14 laps to go, and he held on for the win.
It was Palou’s first win at The Brickyard — and first win on an oval, interval. Previous to his triumph, there have been quite a few wrecks, pre-race developments and scorching passes within the latter half of the race.
With that, here is a photograph recollection of the 109th Working of the Indianapolis 500.
Rain, rain, go away
The 2025 Indianapolis 500 did not begin on time resulting from climate within the space.

The tempo lap for America
Earlier than the beginning of the race, the Indy 500 honored Memorial Day and the U.S. Military’s 250th birthday with a helicopter flyover.
McLaughlin’s race is over very early

Quickly after, Andretti hits the wall
On Lap 4 of the race, Marco Andretti hit the wall, actually. The son of Michael Andretti climbed out of his automobile and the twentieth Indianapolis 500 race of his profession was over in a flash.

Pole-sitter Shwartzman’s day ends after pit crew crash
Robert Shwartzman, who began the race in first place, completed twenty ninth after a difficulty on pit street by which his automobile collided with members of his staff. Shwartzman stated it was a “scary moment,” although fortunately nobody was critically injured.

One other scary pit street incident
Alexander Rossi‘s automobile briefly caught on hearth in his pit stall, and fortuitously Rossi and his crew had been wonderful. However at that time, Rossi, the winner of the 2016 Indy 500, needed to name it a day.

No “Double” for Larson
Kyle Larson‘s automobile spun uncontrolled on Lap 91 and hit the wall. Larson aspired to finish each the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, Might 25, but he couldn’t quite get it done.

No three-peat for Newgarden, both
Josef Newgarden’s quest to turn into the primary back-to-back-to-back Indy 500 winner came up short. To be truthful, it isn’t a straightforward feat (simply ask the Kansas Metropolis Chiefs).

Ericsson will get handed for first place
Ericsson completed the Indianapolis 500 in second place after being handed by Palou, the eventual winner, with 14 laps to go. Ericsson, the 2022 Indy 500 champ, stated it was “pretty painful” shedding the race.

He is bought milk
Palou drank the ceremonial milk after his first win on the Indianapolis 500 — whole milk was his choice.

Palou seals his historic win with a kiss
Palou, who turned the primary Spaniard to ever win the Indy 500, participated in another IMS custom after celebrating his victory: kissing the bricks.
