The Washington Capitals mentioned Thursday that no resolution has been made on Alex Ovechkin’s future within the NHL after an e-mail was despatched to season-ticket holders calling subsequent season his final.
The group on social media mentioned that the e-mail was mistakenly despatched by somebody within the company gross sales division.
Ovechkin broke Wayne Gretzky’s profession goal-scoring file this spring and now has a complete of 897. The upcoming 2025-26 season is his final on his present contract, signed in 2021, and he turns 40 in September.
Ovechkin has mentioned he intends to play subsequent season, which might be his twenty first within the league.
