“I’m dropping religion on this league. I’ve talked about this when this league had its inaugural first three, 4 seasons, I used to be one of many three play by play voices. It was Robin Roberts, Hannah Storm and myself and I labored with Reggie Miller and we had a blast. And it was a celebration of those ladies. This league has now in some way morphed into one thing that appears like activism on show.”

She mentioned protesters repeatedly interrupted these talking in favor of female-only competitors.

“They (pro-trans protesters) have been loud,” Tafoya continued. “They’d bullhorns. They’d press their little siren button and simply blast us so we might by no means speak. It’s simply arduous to imagine that we’re nonetheless conflating this concept of girls having their very own sport, however trans ladies in some way accessing that sport after they aren’t biologically feminine.

“This isn’t an anti-choice, transphobic motion in any respect. God bless Sophie Cunningham and you already know it as properly, if not higher than I do. She’s received a backbone. And he or she is a hero of mine.”

“I hope it opened the doorways for others. However you already know what? It’s going to be a really slim group. And the best way that the WNBA is responding with Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve carrying a T-shirt, trans youngsters belong. By the best way, this has nothing to do with youngsters, and I’d love to depart youngsters out of this whole ideology altogether.”
