    Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti says he expects Neymar to be match for the World Cup opener regardless of his calf damage.

    The Santos playmaker threw the Seleção’s match preparations into chaos this week after medical scans revealed a calf strain.

    The timing of the analysis sparked immense fury throughout the Brazilian media, with heavy scrutiny falling on why a participant carrying a muscle tear was given one of many coveted spots on the aircraft.

    However Ancelotti shut down any discuss of a late squad substitute and says the 34-year-old will function within the group stage.

    Ancelotti acknowledged: “To be clear, Neymar will probably be with us. We consider he can recuperate in time for the primary match [against Morocco on June 13], and if not, then for the second [against Haiti].”

    Ancelotti confronted some intense, uncomfortable questioning a couple of perceived contradiction in his choice coverage.
