North Carolina State Wolfpack athletic director Boo Corrigan needs their subsequent males’s basketball head coach to be extra like former NFL quarterback Philip Rivers.

Head coach Will Wade introduced Thursday he is leaving this system after one season to reunite with the LSU Tigers, whom he coached from 2017-22 before being fired on account of a recruiting scandal. When discussing his departure, Corrigan quoted Rivers, who starred for the Wolfpack from 2000-03.

“I believe Philip Rivers mentioned it … the Wolfpack ain’t for smooth individuals,” Corrigan mentioned, via On3’s Noah Fleischman. “We will discover a coach that understands who we’re.”

Somebody sounds salty. Wade, in the meantime, thanked this system and complimented Corrigan’s management whereas explaining his resolution to depart.

“This was not a straightforward resolution due to how a lot respect and appreciation I’ve for this program and this college,” Wade mentioned in a press release. “However the alternative to return to Louisiana State College is deeply private. It is an opportunity to go residence — to a spot meaning an awesome deal to me and my household.”
