Mark Cuban will be unable to wrestle again management of the Dallas Mavericks any time quickly.

The Dumont and Adelson households, present majority homeowners of the Mavericks, gave a statement on Wednesday night to veteran NBA writer Marc Stein. Within the assertion, they emphasised the staff was not on the market.

“The staff just isn’t on the market and the [Dumont and Adelson] households look ahead to increasing their possession stake over time,” the assertion learn. “The Dumont and Adelson households stay totally dedicated to the Dallas Mavericks’ franchise and to the Dallas group. They continue to be targeted on constructing a championship group for the long run.”

This comes after information broke earlier this week that Cuban, the previous controlling proprietor of the Mavericks, is looking to partner with an unidentified investor group as a way to buy the staff. Cuban offered off his majority share within the franchise to the Dumont and Adelson households again in 2023 at a $3.5 billion valuation however is now apparently hoping to purchase again the bulk possession of the Mavericks.

Now 67 years previous, Cuban initially purchased the staff in 2000 for a sum of $285 million. However after 4 convention finals berths, two NBA Finals appearances, and a championship in 2011, Cuban determined to promote his controlling stake within the Mavericks (later explaining exactly why he chose to do so). Now Miriam Adelson and her son-in-law Patrick Dumont (who now serves because the governor of the Mavericks) are the staff’s controlling homeowners.

However beneath Adelson and Dumont, the Mavericks have dramatically modified course, most notably by shockingly buying and selling away famous person cornerstone Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in February 2025. Cuban, who stays a minority proprietor of the franchise, was not consulted within the resolution to commerce Doncic as he had seemingly been pushed to the fringes by the new leadership group.

The billionaire businessman Cuban did handle to attain a latest victory by reportedly serving to to get ex-Mavericks common supervisor Nico Harrison fired. However as for Cuban’s efforts to purchase again majority management of the franchise, these seem like nothing greater than a pipe dream proper now.
