Is this the best Chiefs roster we’ve seen? Is it time we took the Colts seriously? How far can Kyle Shanahan take the injury-riddled 49ers?

Those are the questions Colin Cowherd has answers to in the most recent edition of the “Herd Hierarchy.” Remember, Cowherd isn’t ranking teams based on what they’ve done lately or their record. Rather, it’s an encapsulation of where each team in the NFL stands, holistically, taking into consideration which opponents each team has beaten, how healthy they are and their ceiling for the rest of the year.

So, let’s take a look at Cowherd’s most recent top 10 after an exciting weekend of football in Week 7.

    1. Kansas City Chiefs

Cowherd’s thoughts: “This is as good as Kansas City’s been. Hollywood Brown, JuJu [Smith-Schuster], [Xavier] Worthy, [Rashee] Rice, Travis Kelce. … I feel [Patrick] Mahomes is taking part in at an absurd degree… They’re so deep now at large receiver.”

Cowherd’s ideas: “Jalen Hurts wins loads. DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, after they cannot run, can take the highest off. They are a onerous workforce to defend … I like their roster, and I maintain simply saying, ‘They’ll determine it out.'”

    3. Los Angeles Rams

Cowherd’s ideas: “It is not likely simply [Matthew] Stafford and [Sean] McVay, that protection is suffocating. … They lead the NFL in huge performs. No Puka, no downside. No. 2 scoring protection, No. 2 in sacks.”

    4. Indianapolis Colts

Cowherd’s ideas: “Finest outright file within the league, 6-1, and their solely loss i to the Rams, and so they outplayed them. Nice offensive line, playmakers at operating again, tight finish, large receiver, head coach. Most effective offense within the NFL… It appears to be like elite to me.”

Cowherd’s ideas: “Detroit’s run sport jumps off the TV set. They’re 5-1 of their final six video games, and so they obtained rocked by the most effective workforce within the league simply, Kansas Metropolis. Their protection takes the ball away, will get to the quarterback. What I like about Detroit is, they get the lead, after which they get sacks; and that is the best way to win within the postseason.”

Cowherd’s ideas: “I do not suppose their protection has been pretty much as good as I believed, however they lead the NFL in sack differential, they’ve the No. 1 third-down protection, and the No. 1 crimson zone protection … Bo Nix, when trailing this season [has] 11 touchdowns, no picks and a 102 passer score, and, clearly an awesome head coach.”

Cowherd’s ideas: “Their protection, a number of video games with takeaways. I simply suppose they have playmakers. Just like the 49ers, they have been extremely resourceful. … I feel they’ll be superb after they get cleaned up and more healthy.”

Cowherd’s ideas: “They maintain leaving me wanting extra, however they’re undefeated when scoring greater than 10 factors this season. … Josh Jacobs, three straight video games with two or extra touchdowns. No person likes Jordan Love, and he is finishing 69% of his passes and has a 108 passer score… Their run protection is great and Micah is the proper nearer.”

Cowherd’s ideas: “I feel Kyle Shanahan is within the operating for Coach of the 12 months. No Brock Purdy, Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall, George Kittle, Fred Warner, Nick Bosa, however Robert Saleh’s been a monster as a defensive coordinator. .… No person’s been as resourceful as Kyle Shanahan and the 9ers.”

Cowherd’s ideas: “They do not beat themselves. 4 straight wins. High 10 offense. High 5 scoring protection. This was our prediction — the workforce that may double their win complete. … Six straight video games with a 100-plus passer score. I like Drake Maye. I did not suppose he could be this good this fast.”
