Liberty middle Jonquel Jones can be out 4 to 6 weeks after spraining her proper ankle, the WNBA group introduced Saturday.

Jones sprained her ankle throughout the second quarter of an 89-81 loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday evening.

“After additional imaging and analysis, Jonquel averted long-term harm, and she or he is projected to return to sport motion in roughly four-to-six weeks,” the group mentioned in an announcement.

Jones needed to be helped off the courtroom after injuring the identical ankle on June 5 in opposition to Washington. She missed two video games after that harm.

The 6-foot-6 middle was drafted sixth general in 2016, and performed for the Connecticut Sun for six seasons earlier than coming to New York as a part of a three-team deal in January 2023. Jones is averaging 12.1 factors and 9.6 rebounds this season.

The Liberty kick off a four-game highway journey Sunday at Seattle.
