The Mavericks weren’t Kidd-ing round after they informed the Knicks to look elsewhere for a coach. In case the flailing Knicks get the concept to circle again to the Mavericks about buying and selling for coach Jason Kidd, it has been made clear that he’s firmly unavailable — as if the primary time they denied the Knicks permission to talk with Kidd whereas beneath contract wasn’t clear sufficient. “I think the most important thing here is the message that the Mavericks sent out here was not that his was a ‘Nah.’ This was a ‘No.’ They are not interested in further negotiations at all – ‘Don’t even call back’ is the message they wanted out there,” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported earlier this week. -via New York Post / June 15, 2025

The Dallas Mavericks’ Jason Kidd and the Chicago Bulls’ Billy Donovan are two the New York might circle back to in the coming weeks, based on league sources.
