Middleweight veterans Michal Oleksiejczuk and Gerald Meerschaert are set for UFC 319, MMA Combating confirmed after Oleksiejczuk’s workforce Fighting Nerds announced the bout on social media.

The pay-per-view card takes place at United Heart in Chicago on Aug. 16.

Oleksiejczuk (20-9, 1 NC) makes an attempt to maintain the momentum going after snapping a three-fight dropping skid with a first-round knockout over Sedriques Dumas in April, Oleksiejczuk’s first octagon look since becoming a member of the Sao Paulo workforce.

The Polish expertise began his UFC profession as a lightweight heavyweight and has gone 4-4 since reducing right down to 185 kilos. All of his middleweight wins have come through first-round knockout in opposition to Sam Alvey, Cody Brundage, Chidi Njokuani and Dumas.

Meerschaert (37-19) appears to rebound from back-to-back defeats to Reinier de Ridder and Brad Tavares, which dropped his promotional file to 12-11.

The 37-year-old veteran holds the file for many stoppages in UFC middleweight historical past at 12, with a one hundred pc ending charge contained in the octagon that features 11 submissions and one knockout. Meerschaert’s listing of victims embody Bryan Barberena, Edmen Shahbazyan and Bruno Silva.

UFC 319 is headlined by middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis defending his title in opposition to the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev.

Mike Heck contributed to this report.
