Tom Thibodeau blamed a “enormous discrepancy in free throws” as the explanation for the New York Knicks’ 100-94 loss to the Detroit Pistons in Recreation 2.

The Pistons shot 34 free throws in comparison with the Knicks’ 19.

Thibodeau particularly identified the distinction in how Cade Cunningham and Jalen Brunson have been officiated.

“I do not perceive how on one facet you discuss direct line drives. The man is getting fouled and it is not being referred to as,” stated Thibodeau. “And look, I do not actually give a crap how they name the sport, so long as it is constant on either side. So, if Cunningham is driving and there’s marginal contact and he’s attending to the road, then Jalen deserves to be attending to the road. It is actually that straightforward.”

Cunningham shot 12 free throws within the sport, with Brunson capturing 11 free throws. The Pistons additionally shot 14 free throws within the first half, with Brunson and the Knicks solely taking two in that point.

Brunson added that the Knicks must adapt to how the sport is being referred to as.

“No matter the way it’s reffed, we have got to regulate and we have got to adapt to that and go on from there,” stated Brunson.
