Tigers Are Still Trying To Sign 1 Big-Name Free Agent

The Detroit Tigers shocked many in 2024 as they made the postseason for the primary time since 2014 after ending with a report of 86-76 and coming in second within the American League Central.

Whereas simply making the postseason was doubtless sufficient for Tigers followers, the crew went above and past by knocking out the Houston Astros, who had made seven straight American League Championship Sequence appearances, within the wild-card spherical.

This offseason, the Tigers have made some notable enhancements to their roster by including second baseman Gleyber Torres, beginning pitcher Alex Cobb and beginning pitcher Jack Flaherty.

MLB analyst Buster Olney not too long ago revealed the Tigers are pursuing one other big-name participant.

“After signing Jack Flaherty and augmenting their rotation, the Tigers are one of many groups pursuing Alex Bregman,” Olney wrote on X.

The Tigers look like making acquisitions with a win-now method, and including Bregman might be the ultimate piece to that puzzle.

The third baseman has performed all 9 seasons of his MLB profession with the Astros.

In 2024, he performed in 145 video games and batted .260 with 26 house runs, 75 RBIs and a .768 OPS.

The Tigers entered the postseason with a wild-card spot in 2024 and sure have their eyes on an AL Central title in 2025.

Though three groups from the division made the playoffs in 2024, the Tigers will doubtless have their finest probability in a very long time to take house the title.
