Brian Kelly was the top coach of the LSU Tigers from 2022 to 2025.
Maybe extra importantly, for him at the least, Kelly has been a school soccer coach for the reason that 1980’s. By the point he got here to nationwide prominence as the top coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from 2010 to 2021, Kelly had spent a long time in school soccer.
His teaching profession began at DII Assumption because the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach in 1983.

Lately, talking on Sirius XM, Kelly revealed that he had a tough time tuning in to observe his outdated workforce, LSU, tackle the Clemson Tigers in Week 1.

“I’ll be trustworthy, I had a tough time watching it,” Kelly mentioned on Thursday (h/t On3). “However I don’t suppose it was simply LSU, it was simply the primary weekend really of faculty soccer, and it was onerous. You’ve been doing it for 35 years, and to not be a part of that course of, my spouse wished to kill me. She was like, ‘What’s flawed with you?’ What was flawed was I wasn’t on the sidelines, and I needed to take care of it and get by way of it.”
Kelly, 64, continues to be across the sport he loves as a school soccer analyst for CBS Sports activities.
He is even calling the video games as a part of the CBS crew masking Mountain West Convention video games in 2026.
