The Favorite: Ohio State walked all over Ball State in Week 1, scoring two touchdowns each quarter en route to a 56-3 win. Julian Sayin completed 21 of 25 passes and threw three TDs, while Jeremiah Smith had 151 receiving yards and two scores. Now, the real season starts. OSU will travel to take on Texas in Week 2. The Longhorns’ star quarterback Arch Manning threw for 305 yards and four TDs in their 59-7 rout of Texas State in Week 1. These two teams faced off at The Shoe in last year’s season opener, and the Buckeyes emerged with a 14-7 victory. Time for Round 2.
Big Ten Ballyhoo: Oregon was the +750 third choice entering Week 1, but after barely surviving a slug fest with Boise State at Autzen Stadium, the Ducks have dropped to sixth on the board. At one point, the Broncos led 17-7, and the game was tied at 27 at the 8:45 mark of the fourth quarter. The Ducks are at Oklahoma State in Week 2. However, that wasn’t the talk of the weekend out of the Big Ten. Michigan, which was at +4500 to win it all entering Week 1, is now at +10000, despite sitting at 1-0. Why? Well, most believe the Wolverines should be 0-1, after a controversial call gave them a chance for a last-second Hail Mary attempt, which they converted into a game-winning TD.
