After lacking the postseason for a fifth straight season and ending with a report of 71-91, the Nationals got here into the offseason with hopes of enchancment.

Whereas they’ve made just a few acquisitions together with Nathaniel Lowe, Michael Soroka and Josh Bell, nearer Kyle Finnegan might not return to the crew in 2025.

Finnegan is a free agent, and with the reduction pitching market selecting up, he reportedly is seeing lots of curiosity.

“With quite a few free-agent relievers coming off the board lately, right-hander Kyle Finnegan’s market has picked up considerably,” Robert Murray of FanSided wrote on X.

With quite a few free-agent relievers coming off the board lately, right-hander Kyle Finnegan’s market has picked up considerably. Finnegan, 33, was surprisingly non-tendered by the Nationals after recording a 3.68 ERA and 38 saves final season.

Finnegan has performed all 5 seasons of his MLB profession with the Nationals.

In 2024, he appeared in 65 video games and was 3-8 with a 3.68 ERA, 38 saves and 60 strikeouts in 63.2 innings pitched.

It was arguably Finnegan’s finest season, and his efficiency seems to be paying off as a number of groups are occupied with him this offseason.

The reliever market was quiet for many of the offseason till lately, with relievers Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Whereas the Nationals are attempting to rebuild and get again to a aggressive degree, Finnegan was surprisingly non-tendered by the crew.

It is going to be fascinating to see what sort of contract Finnegan finally ends up getting.
